“I’ve had my share of dark storms and am eternally grateful for those who were a light for me when my light had almost gone out. I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl whose journey on earth was just shy of 24-hours. I am also a five-year breast cancer survivor and understand that learning you have cancer changes life as you knew it. The loss of my mom was the darkest storm of my life. I understand what darkness is. I have a passion for helping others and want to make a difference and an impact on everyone around me and within my path.”

“My first storm in life began at the age of 13 when I learned my mother had been diagnosed with cancer. She was my world, and I lost her when I was 15. I joined Relay for Life years ago. I enjoyed my time with Relay, but a few years ago, I felt the need to do more for those in our community. I wanted to help individuals and families get through their storms, as so many people did for my family and me. My friend Cathy and I began thinking about how we could help people in our communities. We were joined by others and have been able to bring our vision to reality in Kind Souls, Inc.”

“I had cervical cancer in 1974. Then in 1982, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which led to multiple miscarriages. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and when the doctors performed the mastectomy, she suffered a stroke. I've felt hopelessness. I've felt despair. In the darkness of hopelessness and despair, I prayed and God lifted me up. I have been left here I believe, to help people, give of myself, and share what God has taught me. There is hope. And I want to bring that hope to others.”

“I, too, have faced a medical storm in my life. I was diagnosed with cancer in December, 2016. I am a proud seven-year cancer survivor!!! I can empathize with the emotions and stress that one experiences when such a storm hits. Time seems to stop for you and your loved ones. Support during this time is crucial for one’s survival, and I am thankful to my family and friends for being a light for me in my time of need. Now with this non-profit, I hope be a part of that light for others.”
