Our First Act of Kindness ~ Portable Defibrillator
Thank you to every single person who made this possible! We reached our first goal! Kind Souls, Inc. dedicated the defibrillator to Union Pines Cross Country team in Honor of Coach Nat Carter and in Loving Memory of Samantha Davis on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. We were honored to have Sam's mom Rebecca, dad Jon Davis and sister Emily Davis. Coach Carter and Mrs. Davis shared memories of Sam and encouraged everyone there to get outside our comfort zone and reach out to those around us. The love for Sam was felt and expressed on every face of those who gathered around while showing love and support for the Davis family.

Act of Kindness Scholarship
On Thursday, May 30, 2019, we presented a $1,000.00 scholarship to Destiny Terry, a student at Union Pines High School. Destiny is currently battling a glioblastoma and is traveling daily to Chapel Hill to receive treatment in hopes of getting it to go into remission. Destiny is a strong and determined young lady. Destiny's mom, Tiffany, along with Destiny's dad and brother came with Destiny to the scholarship banquet. It was extra special because Destiny had no idea why she was there. It wasn't until we started telling the story that led us to choose her as the recipient that Destiny realized why she was there. Destiny has been accepted into the Radiology program at Sandhills Community College. What an honor to be able to help her with some of her college expenses.
Kindness Meals
Many times when a medical crisis hits, the best way to help is with daily chores. We have provided meals to several families as a way to remove and offer a little relief from the chores of everyday life. We have provided home cooked meals and have had some local business who have donated meals for us to provide to these families.
April 2021 Buddy Drive and Cuddle Bear and Book Drive
Buddy Drive
In April of 2021 Kind Souls, Inc and Aikya Waldo, an independent consultant of Scentsy hosted a Buddy Drive. This drive raised 71 Buddies, 8 Scentsy Friends, 89 Buddy Clips and 7 Bitty Buddies for a total of 175 Scentsy items. Kind Souls, Inc worked with counselors of Moore County Schools to identify student needs at each of the 13 elementary schools. Because of the generosity and kindness of so many donors, all schools needs were able to be met and more!
Cuddle Bear Drive
We also teamed up with Kelly Fagan of Usborne Books and hosted a Cuddles for Kids Drive in April of 2021. We had 28 complete sets of Cuddle Bears and Books donated from our very kind patrons!
Cuddle Bears and/or books were donated to Moore County Pre-School Elementary School Students who could really use a friend. It is our hope that these bears bring lots of Cuddles to these little ones!
Buddy and Cuddle Bears Delivery
What a great time we had delivering all the Buddies and Cuddle Bears to the Elementary Schools!
April 2024 Acts of Kindness
Act of Kindness Gift
Thank you, Brittni Sanborn, for inviting us to this game. Thank you, Holly Bishop and Coach Blackwood, for helping put this together. We were told that there was a mom at the game who would soon be starting her chemotherapy for treatment of breast cancer. Coach Blackwood made the moment special by calling her two sons into the field for us to present an Act of Kindness to Lauren Floyd. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.
Act of Kindness Gift
What a wonderful evening! We had the honor of giving one of our breast cancer awareness Acts of Kindness gift cards to such a sweet lady, Nancy McAvoy, at the start of Union Pines Varsity baseball game. Thank you, Coach Marion, for making this special evening happen! This is what it's all about. Coming together to help make a difference to those who are experiencing a medical storm.
